What we make of it.
Drawn from the reviews, their own page and what Google holds. Every line below rests on something a source said, and a person approved it before it appeared here.
- family6.0It offers large rooms, a playroom, and a garden, making it decent for families despite needing some renovation.
- sightseeing6.0It is located 2.6 km from the centre and offers tour assistance, though it is slightly away from the main town area.
- couple5.0The historic palace offers a quiet atmosphere, but the lack of constant hot water and complaints about it lacking warmth may detract from a romantic stay.
- workation5.0It has Wi-Fi, a business center, and a quiet environment, but the limited hot water hours and isolated feel might be inconvenient for long stays.

Ooty, in October.
Cold mornings far from town
Ooty is a town in the Nilgiri Mountains of Tamil Nadu located at an altitude of 2,240 m. It features a subtropical highland climate with temperatures generally lower than the surrounding plains. The town serves as a market town for the surrounding area which is largely dependent on agriculture.

Its worst place ever, very disappointing experience, the entrance road was broken and muddy.waiter rolled eyes when we asked simple questions. Cookies tasted very off. Pest control was not done . very rude waiters.. unprofessional staff, staff were extremely inattentive. ceiling is falling.. broken tiles. even we order hot tea but they served coldest tea.. it was not served in tea pot rater it was served in dirtiest flask. Its looking not like palace .. it's Kabad khana .. not even maintain.. waste of money. There are many more restaurants in neighborhood who have better ambience, better services, better food, cleaner place.
We had a 3 nights and really enjoyed the location, the ambience and the food. The beauty of the location and the wildlife to watch in the morning is phenomenal. The staff are awesome and food is very authentic. The rooms have a royal touch and the Maharaja Suite was a great experience for me and my kids. Incredibly quiet location and the staff are very very sweet and keep the place spotless. Warning: For folks who want to watch tv and wifi at all times choose a more commercial property.
Had a really wonderful stay at WelcomHeritage Fernhills Royal Palace. The property itself feels like a tourist attraction beautiful, grand, and full of old-world charm. The vast lawns were a huge highlight for us, especially for our child who absolutely loved running around and playing there. The food was great, the ambience truly felt luxurious, and the staff were warm and courteous throughout our stay. Overall, it was a memorable experience and definitely one of the best places to stay in Ooty.
It was a wonderful experience, away from the noise of the city and the distractions of modern life. I enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing getaway with my small family, surrounded by nature and tranquillity. This was my second visit to this beautiful place after eight years, and it was just as special as I remembered. I truly appreciated the serenity, the warm hospitality, and the chance to reconnect with nature. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and refreshing escape
What a beautiful property this is ! It’s even more interesting inside. You will feel like you stepped in the history. It’s such a classic property nestled between the jungles. Beautiful garden, horse riding, cycles available here. Oh yes! It is a bit spooky but it’s crazy amazing. Say yes for this property and experience it ! Also if you are a fan of the movie Raaz… you’ll enjoy this property even more
Agree with the previous reviewer - Regency Villas is very old and in need of renovation. It was actually pretty cool to stay in such an old place - it was like stepping back in time 100 years. For us it worked out really well as our driver first took us to a hotel right in town that didn't look very good and was really expensive. After explaining that we had hoped to stay out in the hills (the whole reason to go to Ooty!), he took us to Regency Villas. As it turned out, we were offered a *huge* room for less than the hotel in town - I think we paid 2475 INR in the end, which I thought was good value for Ooty. Note that breakfast, dinner, etc is only available at the neighbouring "Fernhill Palace" - a 5 - 10 minute walk from Regency Villas. Overall we were very happy with our stay.
